About Me
Hi! My name is Kamaria Chisolm, PhD.
I am the owner of Sageview Psychology and a psychologist based out of the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, area specializing in psychological assessments and evidence-based treatment methods for individuals of all ages. I enjoy working with people from all walks of life to identify their current challenges, help them develop solutions to their problems, and discover their strengths and values along the way.
I personally value and base my philosophy as a counselor on the experiences we all commonly share. Through living and working both at home in the US and abroad, I have learned that we are all doing the best we can with what we have.
I don’t just say I genuinely care about every client, I actually do. I honor the courage it takes to disclose very private and personal information and don’t take the privilege of holding the space for these experiences for granted.
My goal is to provide a non-judgmental, safe space where you can open up about your experiences and explore paths to your best self. This may allow you to be honest about your background and experiences, ultimately helping you obtain information that can lead you toward clear plans for reaching your goals.

How My Psychologist Journey Started
From a very young age, I naturally gravitated towards helping others. I have always had a passion for engaging in shared human experiences and meeting people where they are. It was exciting to learn about psychology during my undergraduate career at Howard University. Once I was surrounded by leaders in the field of psychology, my education sparked my passion for the complexities of the mind and body.
Brain and Behavior was one of my favorite subjects to study when I started to formulate theories around environment, genetics, and mental health that later informed the direction of my graduate program. My focus and priority on the relationship between therapy and the assessment process developed over my time and tenure at Howard, specifically with my work within the foster care population.
Since the start of my professional experience in 2004, my clients have inspired me to continue growing and developing as a clinician. I am grateful and fortunate to have been able to work with clients and people of diverse cultural backgrounds. I learned that if I can meet people where they are and provide a space for them to explore and evolve, then I am playing my part in helping them heal and thrive.
The therapeutic rapport I have been fortunate to establish with my clients has led to effective outcomes. As a consultant and specialist, I typically work with partners overseas and am always open to training and partnering with others who value mental health.
I Support My Community And The Power Of Mentorship
In addition to my work as a psychologist and therapist, my involvement in my community is another passion of mine. I am a board member in the city where I reside, a lifetime member of a community service fraternity, a mentor, and an active parent/supporter in schools and community organizations.
I love to cook, travel, and spend time with my family. I have a wonderful husband and two boys. I am grateful to come from a strong family of origin and try to instill similar values within my children and the youth I mentor.
My travels have allowed me to explore different places and learn from people with diverse worldviews. I have always valued the opportunities afforded to me, especially being able to work alongside very talented clinicians.
